The NEW STUDIO!!!!!

It's really true! I'm completely moved into the new studio now. Just a hop, skip and a jump up from the old studio, the new studio is spacious, sunny, and ready to be filled with new pots. The first floor allows a more elbow-roomy experience for my production and classes. The second floor is home to the gallery (oh my, it's pretty) and will be an open space for other non-clay classes and summer camps. The basement room is my new glaze mixing/ mad-scientist space. I've always wanted one of those. Come see me on Open Studio Weekend, May 29 and 30th from 10-5.

Empty Bowls

Well, Sterling College's Empty Bowls fundraiser was a smashing success! Congrats to all who made this event happen, especially the Sterling students who worked so hard to make these bowls. They raised a ton of money for the Foodbank. Here's an after-the-fact press release:

"Sterling College to host Empty Bowls Event

On Friday, April 30th, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, Sterling College will
be holding an Empty Bowls event in Dunbar Hall. Empty Bowls is a
grassroots effort to raise money and awareness to alleviate hunger.
Sterling's event will focus on local hunger and will benefit the
Vermont Foodbank. On the evening of April 30th, handmade pottery
bowls will be set out (empty) alongside a simple yet wholesome meal.
Up to 150 attendees will join together for a meal, choosing an empty bowl, filling it with food, and making a donation in return. The
Foodbank's Theresa Snow will speak on the topic of hunger in Vermont and attendees will be asked to take a few moments for reflection. At the conclusion of the meal, everyone will take home their bowls to serve as a reminder of all of the empty bowls in our world. The event is made possible through the generosity of Vermont Campus Compact and TD Bank, Heather Stearns of Muddy Creek Pottery, Elmore Mountain Bread, the Sterling College Kitchen, and many volunteers."
